Ever since Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) was 12 years old, his life has been very unusual. While in his 20's, Mulder went through regression hypno therapy, and found himself remembering his sister Samantha being "abducted by aliens" when he was 12 and she was 8. His memories are what have fueled him in his search for the existance of extraterrestrial life all these years, even though he has found evidence that they may be false. In the acadamy, Mulder's nickname was "Spooky Mulder" because he believed in aliens. When he joined the FBI, Mulder wrote a monograph on serial killers and the occult that led to the capture of an infamous murderer.
A little after he joined the FBI, he stumbled upon a project that had to do with the paranormal that immediately caught his attention. The X-Files. Since no one else was working on them, hundreds of cases were just waiting to be solved. Since he was such a gifted agent, the FBI let him work on these cases. After a few years of working by himself, Dana Scully was asigned to work with him. Instead of debunking his work like she was expected to, they turned out to be excellent partners. After 5 seasons of this show, I guess you could call Mulder and Scully's relationship semi-romantic. They do hug occasionally, and kiss even less,but it's always either Mulder kisses Scully or Scully kisses Mulder, never Mulder and Scully kiss. But it's rumored that in the 6th season, they will finally kiss each other (yes!) They do almost kiss in the movie, but that doesn't count.
In a Fifth Season episode called The Pine Bluff Variant, Scully finds out that Mulder has been working for some men that were supposedly working against them. She also finds out that Skinner knew about this the whole time and that Mulder is actually a spy for the FBI, giving the men false information and telling the FBI what they've been planning. At the end of this episode, Mulder is found out and almost shot, but he's let free. After this, we never hear about his dealings with that group again.(I'm not going to tell everything that's happened to Mulder, that would take about 5 billion pages, I just thought this was important.)
There are many deaths linked to Mulder (none that are his fault of course.)Mulder's dad gets shot by Krycek. Mulder's mother almost dies a few times. Scully's life always seems to be threatened. And if anyone's noticed besides me, Mulder always seems to have new fish in each episode, so possibly they die a lot. The death of Section Chief Scott Blevins. Scully's sister also got shot by Luis Cardinal, and many, many other tragic things have had to do with Mulder, to many to mention right now. Maybe I'll add them later.
In many episodes, Mulder is seen eating his favorite snack food: sunflower seeds.
