What are the X-Files? In the show, the X-Files are hundreds of unexplained files that were moved under "X" because the FBI ran out of room under "U" (shown in the episode Travelers). The main characters in the show are two FBI agents named Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (played by Gillian Anderson), working in the basement of the FBI headquarters, who are in constant search of the truth, and are always being shot at, poisoned, lied to, you name it. Scully was assigned to work with Mulder Six years ago, and since then, they have become best friends, and trust only each other.
Mulder and Scully's actions are constantly being monitored by a group of people called the Syndicate, who are working with the colinizing aliens. Their job is to keep the public from knowing about the existance of extraterrestrial life, and to make sure Mulder doesn't get to close to the truth. Some of the members of the group are The Cigarette-Smoking Man, the First Elder a.k.a the Suited Man, and Strughold, whom all the other members of the Syndicate answer to. Three long-since dead members of the group are Mulder's dad, who died in Anasazi, the Well-Manicured Man, who died in the movie, and Deep Throat who died in The Erlenmyer Flask. These aren't all the members, only the main ones. But you know what's really sad? After they died, all the other dudes (except for the Cigarette-Smoking Man) died in the episode One Son! THEY DIED!!!!! It was so sad! Not that I liked them all that much, but you know.
Another part of the show (at least to me) is Mulder and Scully's relationship with each other. You'll probably hear me say a lot about that in the rest of this page. I also love David Duchovny. Here's a song by Bree Sharp that really shows how I feel about him.
The X-Files has become a very popular show, and has millions of viewers. There are also trillions of websites dedicated to this wonderful TV series. Be on the look out. And remember. The truth is out there, you just need to know where to look...Happy hunting!
